I was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA., and have been singing and teaching music in one capacity or another for about 30 years. After many years of vocal directing and/or performing in local musical theater shows, singing with local opera choruses such as Livermore Valley Opera and Opera San Jose, teaching music in schools, acting as a choral director with the San Francisco Girls Chorus and teaching private voice lessons on the Peninsula, I moved to Pleasanton in 2006 and established JS Vocal Studio, Voice lessons in Pleasanton. Currently my focus is teaching private vocal and piano and working as a massage therapist at the Amador Valley Chiropractic Center in Pleasanton. At home, I have a husband and two wiener dogs that keep me busy and well-entertained. In my free time I love swimming and taking Pilates and yoga classes.

I love to sing in the Barbershop (4-part a capella) style. I sing "baritone" in a women's competitive Barbershop Chorus in Walnut Creek . My chorus, Diablo Vista Chorus, is part of Sweet Adeline's International. We won first place at the Sweet Adeline's International National competition in New Orleans in September 2019. We are now the mid-sized chorus champions of the world! I am overjoyed to be one of the featured front row dancers of this show chorus.
My non-musical passion is Therapeutic Massage. I am a Certified Massage Therapist (CAMTC #76717) and I practice at the Amador Valley Chiropractic Center in downtown Pleasanton.
